City on a hill

I was due at a private dinner in Merchant's Hall in Hanover St at 6.30 this evening .

As the sun was shining I decided to walk from the Parliament and chose to go down Jeffrey St , up Waverley Bridge and through Princes St Gardens.

The view of the old town between the trees in the gardens was particularly striking and trying to capture it almost made me late !
