Braid Burn

Went for a walk at lunch time through the Hermitage and over Blackford Hill, one of the huge perks of working at KB. Glorious sun shine although a wee bit blowy. I found a nice cluster of fungi and the Hawthorn is in glorious bloom. Walked over Midmar Paddock thinking What a nice place, I hope nobody plans to develop it. I promptly found a note pointing out that the land was for sale with a view to build up-market houses, see also Andy Wightman's post. We don't need more low density crappy (even if upmarket) housing. What about high quality modern tenement blocks with a mixture of office, shops and flats and good public/bike friendly transport, such as Vauban. Bah, that might be too much to ask for.
