Monsal Head, Derbyshire

This commanding view was once dominated by the Midland Railway line, which ran from 1863 to 1968 connecting London and Manchester.

The Headstone viaduct you see to the left is 300 feet long and has five 50 foot span arches making it one of the most impressive viaducts in Britain.

The River Wye you can see running through the valley
was important during the Industrial Revolution as
it powered the cotton mills at Cressbrook and Litton.

Today I have succeeded in loading an Extra photo, not by tapping the + sign repeatedly but by swiping it!
