Fun at the Waterside

An odd day, filled with small and bitty pieces of work but finished off with prawn stir fry ( go easy on the chilli next time) and a pint with a collection of folk I don't see very often while watching the excitement of the duck race and then the raft race. Although as there was only one raft this year it lacked a bit of drama. The nesting swans shortened the course this year too as the nest is on the usual finishing line, the cygnets are understandably reluctant to hatch until summer turns up and the water temperature increases. Not that the temperature bothered the kids who decided to go for a swim in their pants at the end of the evening.
