Celtic Cross

The Celtic Cross is a symbol that combines a cross with a ring surrounding the intersection. The tour guide during the tour tour I had in Ireland last week talk about certain myths surrounding the history of this symbol. It was thought that Christian monks wanted to convert the then pagan Ireland into Christianity and so to broaden the appeal, they included the symbol of the Roman sun-god Invictus which is represented by the ring. Another myth was that St Patrick introduced the Celtic Cross but evidences also showed that a variation of the celtic cross existed even in pre-Christian time. So there you go, tidbits of information from our tour guide! Back of this keyring is in the Extra Photos section :)

Lab work today was all about journal re-reading and noting important research claims into my thesis introduction. How long have i been working on this introduction?!?!?? I think I may need another year just for this chapter.
