Mercat cross

Down in Edinburgh's cannongate area tonight to attend a Boys Brigade Queens badge award ceremony in the Cannongate Kirk.

To think this place held a royal wedding of sorts (Zara Philips) some years ago.

Found this Mercat cross just within the kirks grounds whilst waiting on the event starting. There was also a statue of a Scottish poet but my photos of that have too many bystanders in them.
