This is just one of four figures making up one sculpture.
The others figures are the overseer, the centurion, and Jesus.
Though I believe that this one figure truly represents the event.
The brute power and sheer cruelty of what happened on Calvary.

This is just one of nineteen sculptures at Santa Catalina Church.
It is located in a garden dedicated to the Stations Of The Cross.
This is an old Catholic tradition relating to Jesus' last hours.
I am very luck to be allowed to be the caretaker of these bronzes.
Some of them are life size, while others are about one quarter scale.
Believe it or not, I really enjoy the work involved in caring for them.
A labor intensive job for which I volunteer, with much gratification.
