Hever Castle
The home of Anne Boleyn, and then later King Henry XIII gave it to Anne of Cleves, so two queens lived there. It was a beautiful day to visit a beautiful castle - the gardens are extensive and very interesting, as when the Astor family bought Hever Castle they extended the grounds and even established a lake. Unfortunately it was too early for the lovely rose gardens, nothing was yet in bloom. If you would like to see poor Anne Boleyn before she was beheaded, look at my extra photo!
It has been a busy day with the visit to Hever preceded by a very long dentist appointment, and now I must get ready to go to London as tonight Gavin and I are attending a 50th birthday dinner of one of his colleagues. Will catch up later!
