Taste of the sea

Up early and off to Inverewe gardens. Nice coffee and cake first at Bridge Cottage Cafe in Poolewe then a very relaxed pootle around the gardens (loved the Himalayan poppies in extra photo), dodging the midges but otherwise lovely. Amazing walled garden with vegetables in rows and a lovely willow horse sculpture.
Home via Ullapool and the Rhue art gallery (rather nice) and collected our kilo of langoustines from the local fisherman. Slightly scary to cook them live but we convinced ourselves they'd gone to sleep in the boot of the car. Made mayonnaise too.....absolutely delicious dinner. :)
