Swallows

A wet morning and we both stood looking out at a possible fly catcher when our pair of swallows appeared, they are nesting on the front of the house above here. It was fascinating to watch both come and go with tiny twigs in the beak or trailing thin grass from their claws. This one stood on the post for a few minutes getting wetter and wetter, the rain drops bouncing of his/her head. It looks as though only one could visit the nest, the other waiting patiently on the rail. Perhaps saying 'what is she doing now?' We didn't see the fly catcher again but pleased to see a redpoll visiting in recent days.

Some of the shots are sharper but blipped this to show the wonderful colours and shape of the feathers, and the rain drops.
