A couple on a tandem

Cool and sunny, very pleasant.
The van was given a clean up and then bacon and eggs, eating this looking over the water and listening to The Proclaimers. The drive inland heading south from Mo towards Mosjoen, the scenery beautiful. Less rugged than on the west coast. At one stage a long tunnel was closed with the alternative route stunning, the road climbing above the snow line. A cool breeze continued with clear blue skies as we drove through Sandnessjoen, the book tells me it's a boom town waiting to happen, oil has been found nearby.

We are back on the tourist route 17 again the landscape has changed to softer surroundings, we have mountains on the left and water on the right but along the route the scenery is of a gentle ruralness. And have just passed the cycle tandem couple we met two days ago. We have stopped for a chat and perhaps all staying here tonight. Their traveling and camping is so very different to ours, harder in all ways - they are younger - and living in the weather rather than coping with it.

I have just spotted a different bird which turns out to be a ringed ouzel, male and female. Later we had a good chat with the couple of the tandem, she sits on the front and peddles, he is positioned normally and a small trailer. The bike is a heavy frame, very expensive, they bought it second hand in London. The couple are from the Black Forest, Germany, and very good company.
