Numb Paws

Well, thinks Teddy!
Yesterday Teddy spend four and a half hours on a Steinway.

Teddy is always a bit nervous about playing for weddings; he knows he can do it, but always he worries a bit that he might make a mess of it. But he never has. In fact, yesterday, despite the sad absence of playmate, turned out to be a 'zen piano' moment!

Even though lots of things were undecided; how long the bride would take to come in, where she was coming from, how many of the chosen pieces would they need during the signing of the register, how exactly would Teddy 'jazz up' the wedding march, was there a meal, was there an evening reception; none of this really mattered. It just worked, even improvising for ten minutes waiting for a late bride. (It should be said that, being in Crear, the bride was already staying in the same building and only had to walk through a door!)

Time didn't so much fly as just wasn't there. His hands went to notes and chords without thinking, and even went to places where there melody was only in his head. Strange. Nice.

And today? Wasted! Teddy knows exactly where those hours went. His muscles are telling him, and his brain is as fuzzy as his fur.

Fuzzy Teddy.
