Nighttown

I was one of the photographers and writers who took part in the Night Town project, which also involved collaboration of musician Seán Mac Erlaine. Two photographers were involved, Jim Berkeley and myself, and the poets responded to a series of images of Dublin by night.

The performance took place last night in The Workmans Club, next to the Clarence Hotel on the quays. Great to see the place packed. Everyone read excellently (and I also read a short poem, loosely based on one of my own photographs) and Sean played atmospheric jazzy riffs to complement each poem. Afterwards we had a few more drinks in the bar, pictured above. It was a delight to be involved in this project. Big thanks to everyone, including Liam Carson who organised it and Margaret Lonergan who designed it.
