Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

We watched this odd structure being built over the years and decided we'd have to give it a try when it opened so we went in 2011. It's different. The rooms have gorgeous vistas across the marina or the bay and are quite large by Asian standards. The Chinese Restaurant we used was excellent and reasonable for where it was. But the downstairs reception areas were rather like airport lounges, vast and anonymous. I doubt we'll stay there again but we had to give it a try. The best bit was the swimming pool on the roof and restaurants and the fantastic views all round.
