A long walk

It was a beautiful day today for my long walk. It was organised by a mother at the boys' school for whoever wished to go on it, so there were some mums, some dads and some dogs. I did not take Murdoch as I know from past experience that you walk through fields of cows and sheep and there are numerous stiles to get over, and although all this would have been manageable it was easier without him. (Luke was off work today so he took Murdoch for a walk at home). We completed about 12 miles, and my fitbit registered about 27000 steps with 90 floor climbed...up and down those hills and stiles! I am rather scratched from the bramble bushes and thorns and got stung by nettles a few times, but that is to be expected when one walks in the English countryside. It was a very enjoyable walk and I feel quite tired now.

There were not many opportunities to take photos as we walked at quite  a pace and I did not have time to stop and fiddle around with my camera. Thankfully I took my smaller camera so it was not too heavy to carry all that way.

Here is a view of the beautiful Kent countryside. We started at Cowden and walked a circular route - I just followed the leader and had no idea where I was! There is another photo of the walkers as an extra.
