Thursday: Lunch With A View
Our day started by running an errand. My boss had asked that we drop off something for him with some acquaintances on the island. We contacted said acquaintances and were promptly treated to a tour of the vicinity which included the local fort and the British cemetery. That was not the highlight though......that was most definitely their house, a 15th century town house which they have refurbished beautifully. It also contains an original 15th century basin complete with Green Man carvings. Not only do they have a to die for house but they also seem to own a peninsula........
We peeled off and returned to our favourite cove for some relaxation and lunch (this was our lunchtime view). The days have been getting markedly hotter - we now have that absolutely still mid-day heat where the only things moving are the chirping crickets. I have also forgotten to tell you that wild lavender and thyme grow in abundance here and those are the smells that pervade.
We are a little sun-weary now. We may head out later for ice-cream. Or we may not.......
