Friday: Split Alleys

We are in Split again for the weekend, this time for an event taking place tomorrow afternoon.

K. picked me up after work for the drive down.  It takes about four hours and we like to pass the time by listening to podcasts of Desert Island Discs.  We listened to a great bunch today but the most compelling, by far, was Alice Walker who was so articulate, thoughtful, honest and though-provoking.

So, yes, back in Split........an endlessly fascinating city of back alleys, cut-throughs, passages and history.  I really do like this city - it is an odd combination of historic living Roman touristy palace and gritty urban shipyard reality.
