Timber tractor Tuesday....

Still dry today,so got another 3 lots of fertilizer spread before lunch time. Yesterday's calf still not sucking,so had to tube it again.
Moved one lot of cows into another field as getting very bare in the one they were in. Mind you the one they went into isn't much better. Did notice that the thistles and nettles are growing quite well though.
Sat for a few minutes watching a wee skylark singing it's heart out. It never fails to cheer me up hearing them singing away. How something so small can make so much noise I don't know.
Went to check a calving cow tonight, and she had calved no bother and the calf was in sucking away. Just as well I did though,as spotted a ewe on her back . It was so muggy this afternoon that it was ideal conditions for suicidal sheep to cowp, gas up and die. After all,a happy sheep is a dead sheep !
This is the forwarder busy carting the timber down from our wood to pile it up next to the road. The first lorry load went away this morning. It will either be for chip wood or pallets.
