Guernsey and St Peter Port have not surprisingly - given the seafaring and military tradition - contributed to the Empire in the lives of thousands of Guernsey folk. The Town Church is the most important religious building on the island; through the centuries the great and the good - army, navy, empire builders. It is full of memorials of another way of life.
