Geevor

Possibly the windiest day ever. Plus loads of rain. Gales on costal areas were warned to be 'severe'. So we went to visit an old Tin Mine that had been preserved and turned into a museum and heritage centre - and had the most amazing day. Unlike the National Maritime Museum which made me want to scream, it was utterly fascinating and also rather moving.

We went down a mine, only 40 feet deep, and the mind boggles at what it must have been like in the deepest mines, hours at a time, some under the sea.

We ended up spending hours there, a really fascinating and fun day. One of the guides gave the children some pieces of tin as a souvenir.
