Looks Good To Me

Not a Safe Place

Another candle blip! Mind you these are real candles -- not like yesterday's -- and floaters from the blue and yellow big box store.

Cynthia noticed the earwig trying to hide inside one of them this morning. This led to a discussion about how the little creature could have got there in the middle of the water. I thought it must have flown, but neither of us had seen wings on an earwig.

Wikipedia showed us that they do indeed have wings, and they fold so cleverly that they're practically invisible to the (older) naked eye.

We're not fond of earwigs (is anybody?), and we're thankful that our native ones aren't as big as the Australian giant earwig -- 50 mm/ 2 in long!
