Oriental Poppy

Today's blip was nice and easy, I just needed to pop into the garden   -    I've been keeping an eye out hoping the Poppies would open up for today and they've kindly obliged.

I love poppies, they're bright and beautiful and their association with remembrance makes them special.  I would have loved to visit the Tower of London last year to see the display of ceramic poppies, but unfortunately we couldn't manage it.

The poppy here is the cultivated variety (exact type not known) but whether they are the smaller more delicate varieties or these larger ones I love them all the same.
