There is a Green Hill - not far away ...
About 4 miles away from my house, there is a plant nursery called Greenhill Nursery, on the site of Greenhill Farm. The woman who owns it used to work for Dobbie's Garden Centre, which used to be excellent. However, since Tesco took it over I find the plants poorer than they were, and more emphasis put on the sale of - what I like to call - crap.
Natalie went it alone, and she and her husband are now responsible for this lovely little place, where rescue cats wind round your legs while you examine the plants. You are likely to be offered a cup of coffee and a slice of home-baked cake while you pay for your stuff, and you will almost always spot something that you didn't know you needed!
I trotted along briefly today to buy some bedding to freshen up the patio pots for Sunday's barbecue, but it was too hot for planting. I left them in the shade, having a good soak, and they will get popped into position tomorrow when it is supposed to be cooler and with a wee shower or two to help them get settled.
I had a scrubfest of all garden furniture, and the kids Wendy House and outdoor toys. Then the garage door got thoroughly washed down in preparation of being repainted. By the time G came home I was completely knackered!
After tea (Chinese takeaway - he had noodles, I had Schezuan Chicken) I dropped him and his brother off at a friend's, where they intend to make a night of it. I'm now just about to check the lottery tickets for the last week, take Rocky for a walk, and collapse into bed.
Night all, have a good weekend.
