What the ... ?

There I was - having just poked my head out of the patio doors to see if it was still raining (and it was) so took a very quick test shot of a drop on the honeysuckle with my macro lens, I heard the sound of something big approaching which was definitely not a bumblebee.  I swung my camera round and upwards and caught this tooled-up specimen flying overhead.  If anyone can identify the species, our grandson will be grateful.  (Quite impressive in the full-screen version)

All I did was refocus - the exposure was the same I was trying out on the raindrop.  The raindrop is in "Extra photos" below, although it was only a very quick attempt in the rain!
