Sunshine Sunflower
This was taken during our morning walk. Blue skies. Sunrise. Cool and a little breezy. It was a wonderful start of a great day.
I worked all morning and into the afternoon. Walked to the bank to finish the refinance on our place. The process was HORRIBLE. Worse than any other home loan we have had. They asked some crazy stuff. "Prove your house is not up for sale." How does on do that? Have a signed affidavit from every realtor in the world? "Prove the student loan for $2,000 that you took out in 1976 is paid off." Since the student load and the home load are both through the Veteran's Administration, I bet they have a better paper trail than I do. But anyway, it is not done.
Then in the evening, we had a great family time. My wife's grandmother was German and made a meat, cabbage, and onion roll she called bierock. Lots of work. Lots of laughs. Emily, my granddaughter, and Dallas, my son-in-law, were in charge of making the bread that hold the filling. They made it by hand. I made two kinds of filling. One had hamburger for the meatetarians in the family and the other had soy crumbles for us vegetarians. When we were done, almost every bowl and pan in the house was dirty. Flour was everywhere. We were exhausted and slept well.
