Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2015 Tuesday -- Hank's House Remodel

"Pouring cement" was the main event at the little house on the Central Coast today. We are extremely pleased with the progress and quality of work that is being accomplished by Chris, John, and Randy -- the builders who are working on our vacation/retirement home. The house was originally built in 1942, so 73 years ago things were done quite differently than nowadays. Our builders have found some things that needed attention and they are making sure the important things are not neglected. The last thing that we want to do is give the house a facelift if it really needs a heart transplant.

They have now repaired some weak places in the foundation and "anchored" the house from underneath; a former owner had undermined some of the foundation. They have replaced some seriously messed-up sewer lines and they are gearing-up to do the major remodel upstairs this autumn. So this is the beginning of displaying the progress.

Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol

P.S. Long ago we nick-named our place "Hank's House" -- it's a long story and someday, I will write it, but not today.

P.P.S. This morning was "Final Exam" time for each of my students. Once I get the grades all tallied and recorded, I will enter the semester grades online and be through with grading and teaching for this semester. Graduation is Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m.
