Steady!
More work on the project today. I'm finding it very interesting to work on something much bigger than I'm used to. It presents different challenges, apart from the size. The logs are not perfectly straight or round, they taper, and there are lots of angles involved. The joinery is quite tricky. It takes experience, careful measurements, and skill with both hand and power tools to get it right. Mike and Sid have all the required attributes.
I was very impressed with the precise work they were able to do with a chain saw. I think they could sharpen a pencil with one.
We've been using the TLAR* method a lot. Other phrases that are invoked occasionally are "You won't be able to see that when it's finished", and "We're the only ones who'll notice that".
It's hard work lifting the logs, but I'm having fun.
