Times Of My Life

.......... and Relax!

It was a long day from the time we got up until the moment I toddled off to bed, smelling of woodsmoke, and pleasantly full of whisky.

Four wee cousins had careered around the garden with hot-dogs in hand, and the dog in hot pursuit.  The grown-ups chomped,  chatted, and chilled.  G was in charge of grilling as usual, while I was in charge of stressing, salads, and sweets.

I'm cheating here, as this photo was actually taken by G; still, it captures the moment where I finally put my bahookie in a seat, cracked open a beer, and decided that it was all going just fine.

The young families headed off early to get the children ready for bed.  The rest of us had second helpings, then as it grew eventually darker and colder, we lit the chimenea (which I had filled with pine cones picked up on my dog walks), and sat out until nearly midnight.

Everyone except Gordon's brother went off home, so he and G sat out by the chimenea, with the fairy lights twinkling, and had a few more wee drams before they called it a night.

Yes, it was a lovely day all in all.  I'll pop a couple of extra shots up,  and then I better get out and start the clean up.
