Ketchikan.

We did the 'Rain Forest Walk' and it did rain.  Fortunately we had brought appropriate clothing.

Very interesting walk through  the Rain Forest, we had a very enthusiastic guide. We were in the Tongass National Forest, which is home to bears, fortunately we didn't see any, but we saw evidence of them, bald eagles nesting in the trees and they also have a 'Raptor' centre, which is where they look after injured birds of prey.

All the trees have huge fronds of lichen growing on them, the air is so damp.  The pair of eagles in the tree are a male and female.  The other photos are of some of the birds they have rescued.

The forest has its own saw mill, as they do have a programme of selective deforestation, hence the picture of the section of the tree.
