RAF Sea King Search and Rescue Helicopter

The RAF Sea King Search and Rescue Helicopter passing over my home this evening.   It will cease flying from RAF Wattisham in Suffolk on 1st July after 21 years of looking after our vast coastline and beyond.
A private company is taking over and apparently the nearest search and rescue station will be at Manston in Kent.   It does make me shudder to think what tragedies could happen on our seas and rivers during the time it will take the new one to travel up from Kent!!
