Lonicera periclymenum
As I mentioned yesterday we visited a local garden centre. While we were there we spotted a Honeysuckle which we both liked and felt would go well in the part of the garden we are changing.
The flowers start white and age into a creamy yellow. Some Honeysuckles are evergreen but this one is deciduous. What particularly attracted us was the wonderful fragrance it was giving off. So we ended up with a nice specimen that flowers right through into early autumn. The real clincher was when we looked at the variety name it is Sweet Sue. (For those who don't know CCs journal is called "desperately seeking from the film "desperately seeking Susan" You can guess the rest.)
Other than that the day was partly preparation for going to the Hutton Horse Trials on Friday.
