The whole life cycle

Over thirty years ago I photographed the life cycle of the Orange Tip butterfly from that original colony in our garden and then I put them together like this to use in my teaching of very young children. It is amazing to think that the caterpillar I showed yesterday comes from such a long generation You can see why I described the chrysalis as a coat-hanger!
