Beauty With A Beard

I have photographed green herons during the last three summers, but I have never seen this. He looked normal at first, though his colors were particularly intense, but when he turned his head, his neck and chest plumage flew out from his body. I happened to shoot just as he turned. I guess he was dressed up to attract a lady love. I have several shots of him looking quite beautiful, but this one pleases me with its flow and its balance.

I am so very tired tonight: serious allergies, but I did want to post this. I will try to catch up with comments tomorrow. At the moment, it seems impossible.
