Wind River Mountains

The weather was perfect for traveling from Cheyenne to Lander, Wyoming today.
Our first clear view of the Wind River Mountains from the top of Beaver Rim was a thrill.
Lander is 20 miles ahead nestled in the foothills of the Wind River mountains.
The extra photo is is a favorite of ours which is a famous place near Muddy Gap, Wyoming called "Split Rock Meadows".
It is the site of a Pony Express way station.
I love to look out over the vast meadow and imagine a Pony Express rider galloping full speed on his way to California.
