What If?

G was still on holiday, but I was not. Worked hard all day, but didn't even scratch the surface of my backlog of data input. 

Heard terrible news from the US that a crazed 21 yr old white man lurked in a church in Charleston, then after an hour he got up and murdered 9 black people. 

How the hell does a 21 yr old get so full of hate?  Why, in that great United States of America, can it still be possible for one part of the population to so hate another part? 

I'm mystified by this. 

I'm reading Philip K Dick, who is supposing Japan and Germany won the war, and we lost it. 

What did we win in reality? 

The right for young white supremacists to kill innocent black Christians? 

The right for young  British Moslem women to take their innocent children into a war zone, where their daughters will be married off to IS loonies, and their sons will be turned into fighters or worse? 

Feeling very sad, wondering what if we had not won the war - would we have been worse off?

Who would have imagined these terrible things could have been happening in the 21st Century?
