A COPPICE CAGE THAT WORKED

The deer missed out on all these young hazel shoots just because of quite a minimal hazel meshed barrier. Often, at other times, this has proved insufficient - but even then, I have found that just a small amount of really spikey blackthorn laying inside the hazel cage will be sufficient to deter them.
Good news there then...got lots of blackthorn anytime I lay or trim almost any hedge on the farm.
