SCARLET TIGER MOTH
Well done Carol & Terry for spotting this little beauty on the Gatehouse wall.
It turns out to be common enough in the South West and loves to hang out near Comfry. This one was all of three metres from the nearest block of Comfry plants - the underwing is the scarlet bit - you can just see it peeping through like a flash of a petticoat.
