My son gave me a Funky Veg Kit for Christmas - seeds for "theatrical" veggies.
It was a very clever gift, and proof "it's the thought that counts."
Tonight I got to eat some of the veggies for the first time. Rainbow chard.
I made some of the baby leaves into a salad (vinaigrette made with lemon juice, some raisins, feta and black olives). Delicious with a few organic chorizo sausages (see extra shot).
I found a bottle of Dornfelder (German red from Pfalz) in Lidl last night, so a wee glass of that helped me celebrate.
Mushroom and chard curry tomorrow night. I may be eating chard every other day until next Christmas.
