A tale of Bonnie Prince Charles
Bonnie Prince Charles was hurrying south with his army when he was stopped on this bridge by a young girl offering him a glass of wine.
He drank it, laughed and kissed the girl.
Well, that is the gist of the story.
I heard several variations on this story this afternoon while visiting Doune village Open Gardens and ended up at Glenardoch where the river flows at the bottom of their garden.
And this is the bridge on which the incident is said to have occurred.
P.S Seven village gardens were open under Scotland's Gardens, all totally different and all reflecting the passion for planting and gardening of their owners.
