Revision - Day 11

Although the day started out with us thoroughly enjoying the South of England Show, at lunchtime my son managed to get a fishbone stuck in his throat and before we knew it we were racing to the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton in an ambulance, lights flashing and sirens blaring!

He's absolutely fine now - it was pretty scary at first as he was in a lot of pain, was spitting up blood and his blood oxygen was dropping. Although they could clearly see the bone stuck in his throat, they couldn't reach it and were talking about putting him under general anaesthetic but it appears that at some point not long after we got to the hospital he managed to swallow it so although we had to stay in for a few hours just in case, a few minutes after they admitted him he discovered the controls that move the bed up, down and all around and was bounding around the place saying how much 'fun' it was! Well, I had told the kids we might get to Brighton this week - didn't think it would be this way, though! As you can see, we had a lovely view once the sun came out.

Perhaps I should have heeded the sign from yesterday's blip......
