Swallows

This week was Walk to School Week, a somewhat suburban concept which doesn't translate to rural, single track communities!
So, we do it our way. We Go for a walk 'n talk along the roads from school, and look hard for those things we would often miss. Like these swallows.
We watched for quite a while as these tiny birds skimmed the small pond, always taking the same track, picking insects of the water.
Using my camera like this, I could show the pupils what was happening in more detail. As regular readers know, I'm on a mission to persuade the boys not to chase and clap the butterflies. Respect is hard to teach. So, it's less of the lectures, more of the wonders.
And we all agreed, these were wonderful.
