Tiny Tuesday 4
This little (tiny) guy is a Velvet Mite (Trombidium holosericeum). You find them on pavements and walls at this time of year. They are parasites of all sorts of garden invertebrates including Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) Coleoptera (beetles) Diptera (True Flies) Orthoptera (crickets and grasshoppers) Hemiptera (bugs) and Homoptera, Hymenoptera (ants, wasps and bees) Araneae (spiders) Pseudoscorpiones and Opiliones (harvestmen) - pretty well anything they can climb on to.
