Somewhere Between Dream and Reality

I love capturing kids in their element - when they are so deep in their play that their dreams become true.  I love looking at the photos and seeing faces free of burden; faces completely consumed by joy, determination, achievement, love, pride, concentration, expectation, hope.  It's so easy to find in children.  And even the photos of children in defeat, seem happy because you know they will have another chance.  You know they still have the strength to get back up and try again.  Children inspire me, they energize me... they also exhaust me and frustrate me.  But when I look at the pictures of the moments, they fill me and I am renewed.
