Barnsley Hospital

Not the prettiest building in the world but the staff we've met are wonderful.  We were there for Ann's bone-scan, so following an injection of radio-active fluid we had three hours before the scan so walked into the town centre, ate lunch at the Cooper Gallery and paid a visit to the bank.  Everything linked to the scan ran to time and the young man in charge was a delight.  At least it gave us a breathing space after an emotional morning.  Mum's doctor visited just before lunchtime and made arrangements for mum to go into the hospice for a few days where she felt they'd be able to help alleviate some of her symptoms (and give us a bit of a break).  Mum's been getting weaker and spent most of the day in her bed.  For the first time since she's been with us she was unable to tackle the stairs.  Fortunately we have a futon upstairs where she was able to sit (the futon is her favourite sitting place downstairs at the moment).
