Cuckoo Bee and Allium Flower
Not such a good afternoon for photographing bees as it was quite windy - they're hard enough without the wind! I think this is a male Buff-tailed Bumblebee. I've had a change of mind re the identification and now think it is a female cuckoo bee either Southern or possibly Gypsy. I spent quite a bit more time on the identification on Thursday evening as I'd photographed this bee again. Not quite as good as the bee pic from last week, but I'll keep trying.
A Tai Chi Morning and Merv trimmed some of the bushes in the front garden and I managed to put a few more of my snap-dragon plants in pots. Oh and we had a swop round of the feeders to try and prevent the squirrels and larger birds sitting in the seed feeder tray at the back.
Camera Club evening - a chance to show my proposed LRPS panel and to flag up the possibility of attending the next advisory meeting to other club members, followed by a fairly light-hearted look at some images from this years Yorkshire Annual exhibition. It was a lovely mild evening - maybe we should have re-arranged and gone to photograph in the meadow - a visit that had to be cancelled because of rain last week.
