Earlier in the year an American friend of ours heard that we (Brits) hadn't eaten 'grits' and threw us an American breakfast. Not a nation to take this lying down, we retaliated with 'Afternoon tea'.

But we did't make it easy on them, oh no, there were rules.

The 'committee'* decreed that the Ascot Royal Enclosure Dress Code would be enforced.
