Almost Wattle Time

This is my Kootamundra Wattle or Acacia Baileyana Purpurea.  It is about to burst into flower, but I love the promise of these small buds. This shrub is indigenous to only a small area of New South Wales, but has become naturalised and wide spread in Victoria.  I love the purple new growth at the tips which turns into the most beautiful blue/grey foliage as the leaves mature. The blossoms, when they emerge are abundant and smother the shrub in a yellow/gold cloud.  I will be able to Blip the outcome in a very short time. July is wattle season in my part of the world and is so joyous!
