Red Hot Poker

Well, this is what we have always called them, but they are really Kniphofia, also called tritoma or torch lily. They have had a rough time because of how dry it has been, but have burst forth with great determination. There is still some frost residue on those petals, but it will soon vanish with the lovely sunshine has now followed such a frost. Thoughts of Anni today.
