Salad!
I arranged to pick up Ben from his nursery and take him out to lunch. It's the last few weeks of him being in Nursery before starting P1 in August.
Decided to go to Abernethy (Ben calls it Apaneppy) to the organic farm called Jamesfield which has a Cafe with nice views overlooking the fields and the River Tay. We could watch the geese and ducks waddle around their pond. The lunch was quite disappointing with rules about toasties and what kids can order. The salad smothered in dressing didn't go down too well with the boy apart from the cucumber. Expensive too. Bought some plants in the garden centre and then Ben spied a chute at the bottom of the field where the ducks and geese were. We wandered in and he was up up down it when I looked up and saw the waiter shouting that we couldn't go in the field because it would frighten the ducks and geese ( who were sleeping a bit away from us). He also told us that they would bite if they felt threatened. But they are sleeping and way up top of field I said. Oh but it's for your own good as there is also faecal matter on the grass!!! Health and safety reasons!!! I had to laugh at that.
So with the expensive and not so good food, surly assistants in the garden centre and bonkers rules about playing on a chute won't be back!! Then Ben kept talking about faecal matter on the journey home:)
Cameron got his report card today. Plenty of good points but this style of reporting is pretty bland in my opinion. Just tell us as it is none of this namby pamby everything is great way of doing. Bring back prizes for first second and third, put some competition into learning. Not going to happen though.
