CHIPOLOPOLO!!!

What an AMAZING day today has been.....began with an early start heading to Isubilo for the Saturday programme for the kids. Today they all went down to the farm to pick maize (which gets milled and turned into the mealie meal that they cook to become their staple food) so it's very important. I was happy to stay behind at the base and look after the younger ones or the sick ones. We had fun doing puzzles but I was surprised at how hard they found them.

Then I met Banana and we drove thru town beeping our horns, shouting out the window, blowing whistles and everything because TODAY in Ndola, its ZAMBIA v's GHANA!!!! And we had tickets for the 3pm kick off. Our nails were all painted and the Chipolopolo shirts were on, the atmosphere was electric and I was very excited. I have never in my life put on or supported a football team....but I wore my shirt today with pride for the Zambian nation!

By 3pm we had made our way thru the crowds of Zambian fans all proudly wearing their flags, shirts, hats, vuvuzelas, scarfs and anything else green, red or orange! We had faces painted and had great seats. The new stadium looked amazing.
The whole excitement of it all was unreal. I loved it all....the dancing, the shouting, the colours, the people, the noise and THE WIN obviously. This has been such an epic day! Never to be forgotten.

Now my throat is sore, my ears are wringing, my body exhausted, my feet dusty and dirty but I'm SO excited to have experienced Zambia win today!
